Apple to release the iPhone 14 on September 7, ads coming to Maps

According to a fairly reliable source when it comes to Apple, the company is planning to launch the new iPhone 14 family earlier this year regardless of the supply chain constraints and increasing chip prices. This is an indication that Apple has secured enough hardware for its iPhones.

Apple to release the iPhone 14 early this year, plans to show ads in Maps

The report claims that Apple will unveil the new generation on September 7 while sales will begin on September 16. This would give the Cupertino-based company an extra week of sales and will likely boost Q4 fiscal results. This is the earliest unveiling since 2016.

Another reason for Apple's rush is likely an October event. Several analysts believe that the firm is going to release new Macs and iPads at that one, so there should be enough time between the two events.

Another interesting bit is Apple's plans to introduce ads in its Maps app. The paid search results will be replaced with banner ads and include a new tab in App Store called "You Might Also Like". Currently, the company records about $4 billion each year from advertising and plans to push that to around $10 billion.
