Samsung gets more iPhone 15 OLED orders after BOE panels found sub-standard

Apple is gearing up to launch the new iPhone 15 series, and the latest reports from Korea claims Samsung will provide the majority of OLED panels for the four upcoming phones.

According to insiders, the BOE OLED panels failed the quality control test from Cupertino, pushing the American company to place the order for its share with its Korean partner.

Apple might increase iPhone 15 prices, to produce more of the iPhone 15 Pro

LG and Samsung are supposed to provide LTPO OLED displays for the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, while BOE was to deliver panels for LTPS OLED screens on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. However its products were found below requirements by Apple so its share was reallocated.

Rumors suggested the Chinese maker was having issues with the punch holes for Face ID, pushing Apple to reassign orders at the last minute.

If BOE manages to fix the issues by the end it will at least get some orders for the units that will be manufactured in 2024, but it's unclear if the Chinese maker will manage to do it.
